Man at Work

Disney isn't giving up just yet and thinks its movie still has a shot at being number one. The film Working Man is making it easier for kids to go to theaters on Saturdays. Plus, Snow White is still a big hit among girls and moms who don't have many choices for films to watch in cinemas.

The victory for Working Man comes at a crucial time for Amazon MGM Studios. They just saw their studio head Jennifer Salke unexpectedly leave. This shake-up happens as they aim to make a name for themselves as a top player in Hollywood and expand their global reach, especially after scooping up the rights to the James Bond series. Salke’s exit came right before CinemaCon, where Amazon MGM is getting ready to show off what they've got next week.

Ayers directed Working Man, which got good reviews, from a script he wrote with Sylvester Stallone. The movie is rated R and is based on the novel Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon. The cast includes Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, Michael Peña, and David Harbour.

The story follows a former black ops vet (played by Statham) who swapped his military life for a quieter gig in construction. But when the boss’s daughter, who feels like family to him, gets kidnapped by human traffickers, he embarks on a mission to save her, uncovering corruption he never saw coming.

This weekend, Fathom is also rolling out its latest presentation on the big screen called The Chosen. The latest season, The Chosen: The Last Supper Season 5, Part One, rocked it in the box office, making a surprising $12.8 million and landing in third place.
