
The JFK Assassination
“November 1963” dives into the intense 48 hours right before President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The movie looks into the rumored involvement of the Chicago Outfit and includes firsthand accounts, showcasing views from Sam Giancana’s family.
John Travolta is on board to play Johnny Roselli, a key player in organized crime who represented the Outfit on the West Coast and in Las Vegas. Mandy Patinkin will portray Anthony Accardo, the clever and powerful guy behind the Chicago Outfit, known as one of the biggest crime figures back in that time. Dermot Mulroney will take on the role of Chuckie Nicoletti, Sam Giancana’s bodyguard and the Outfit’s most notorious hitman from the South Side. There are more casting updates coming soon.
Chicago Outfit is Part of It
Nicki Celozzi, Sam Giancana’s nephew, wrote the script and is also producing the film. Bonnie Giancana, Sam’s daughter, is involved as an executive producer. They’re handling the domestic sales. This film comes at a time when people are really curious about the tragic assassination, especially with some previously classified documents getting released soon in the U.S.
Producers Kevin DeWalt from Minds Eye Entertainment and Nicki Celozzi from Le Monde Productions said, “This story pulls viewers into the world of the Chicago Outfit and their impact during a big moment in history. With personal stories and an awesome cast, November 1963 is gonna be something you won’t forget.”
K5 International, which CEO Daniel Baur brought back in 2023, had also distributed Kevin Costner’s film Horizon: An American Saga that premiered at Cannes. The sequel is set to show at the Venice Film Festival in 2024, with plans for a release later this year. Plus, the EFM lineup has the hitman thriller The Butler starring Jean Reno.
