
Series and Shows to Enjoy in 2025
As we leave 2024 behind, it’s time to anticipate the incredible programs that 2025 has in store. This year, we’re highlighting 50 shows to get excited about, featuring a blend of returning favorites with new seasons alongside fresh shows and miniseries set to debut. The upcoming shows feature a return to dystopian settings in Severance and Squid Game, the reappearance of TV lawyers in Daredevil and Suits: LA, a new miniseries starring Robert De Niro, and a fresh project from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. Here are the series from 2025 that we’re excited about:
Severance Season 2 is set to premiere on January 17
The first season of Severance ended with a bold, cunning, and surprisingly frustrating cliffhanger: the innies were in outright revolt, and Mark (played by Adam Scott) learned that his wife was alive and somehow being held within the depths of Lumon. Now, in season 2, the story must move forward, and you can count on them to handle it in the systematic and transitional manner that Lumon is known for. —Zosha Millman
Prime Target – Release date: Jan. 22
In this original miniseries from Sherlock writer Steve Thompson, Leo Woodall (from The White Lotus) plays Edward Brook, a gifted postgraduate mathematician on the brink of a discovery that could revolutionize global cybersecurity. The eight-episode series, titled Prime Target, will depict Brook’s collaboration with Taylah Sanders (Quintessa Swindell), an NSA agent assigned to monitor him, as they work together to uncover the conspiracy that he unwittingly becomes entangled in. —Toussaint Egan
Watson – Release date: Jan. 26
Here’s yet another adaptation of Sherlock Holmes! This time, however, the emphasis is on Dr. John Watson, making it more of a medical drama infused with detective aspects rather than the other way around. Set in Pittsburgh, this rendition begins one year after the supposed “death” of Sherlock Holmes. Watson (portrayed by Morris Chestnut) has opened a new clinic to treat patients with unusual ailments, but things become even more complicated when unresolved matters from Watson’s past come to light. —Petrana Radulovic
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man – Launch date: January 29
Disney Plus has introduced the latest addition to the Animated Spider-Man Series called Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This new show, inspired by the artistic styles of Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr., will showcase not only Spider-Man but also a variety of other Marvel characters, including some lesser-known ones like Nico Minoru. —Susana Polo
Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 3 – Release Date: February 13
Cobra Kai has returned! For those keeping track, this marks the third segment of its sixth season and the last episodes of the series overall. Unsurprisingly, this is being promoted as the most significant conflict for the Cobra Kai characters. With five episodes set to release in February, the outcome is wide open. —ZM
Yellowjackets season 3 is set to be released on February 14
Following an excellent first season that set up the show’s plane-crash mystery, the second season felt somewhat aimless. However, there is hope that season 3 will explore more of the intriguing mystery and eccentricities that make this show so enjoyable. —AG
The third season of The White Lotus is set to premiere on February 16
Mike White’s luxury resort mystery series returns for a new season, now taking place in Thailand. As always, a fresh season of White Lotus brings an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Lisa, and many others. —AG
Win or Lose – Release date: Feb. 19
“Win or Lose” showcases Will Forte as the voice of Coach Dan. This marks Pixar’s inaugural original long-format animated series, telling the story of a co-ed middle school softball team during the week leading up to their championship match. Each episode focuses on a different character’s viewpoint, including Coach Dan’s, and delves into the drama surrounding questionable decisions, both on the field and off. It’s a narrative about love, competition, and the difficulties we encounter in our pursuit of success in life.
Reacher season 3 – Release date: Feb. 20
The much-loved “swole Sherlock” series is back for its third season, and this time there’s a new addition: Reacher has recruited an even larger adversary. Olivier Richters, a seven-foot-two, 350-pound Dutch bodybuilder, is stepping into the role of the antagonist. The initial teaser reveals that Richters makes the already imposing Alan Ritchson appear quite small in comparison. This is sure to lead to an epic showdown. —PV
Zero Day – Release date: Feb. 20

Additionally, it features an impressive cast including Robert De Niro, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Bill Camp, Dan Stevens, and Angela Bassett, making it one of the strongest ensemble casts in any show this year. — Austen Goslin
